Our first camping trip after we moved to California! We set up our tent in the Lodgepole Campground at 6,700ft elevation, in Sequoia National Park. During this long weekend adventure, we visited Sequoia NP, Kings Canyon NP, and Sequoia NF. We saw lakes, rivers, and waterfalls, mountains, forests, a cabin from 1925, the magnificent giants - the Sequoias, and panoramic views I will never forget. We hiked up the steep granite dome of Moro Rock, where you can see the Great Western Divide (see the panoramic photo). Everything about this trip reminded me of how small I am in the eyes of nature but also how important a role we play in keeping nature safe and insuring her future generations to experience.
